Artist's Description
This a reproduction of Witold Pruszkowski's "SpadajÄ…ca Gwiazda", or Falling Star, of 1884. Witold Pruszkowski was born in 1846 and spent his youth in Odessa and Kiev. He studied under Tadeusz Gorecki in Paris and moved to Munich and Krakow and studied under Jan Matejko in the latter city. He began as a portrait painter and in 1884 moved to a small village outside of Krakow where his subject matter became legends, fables and folk-tales. He painted Falling Star during this period and he died in 1896. This particular masterpiece is at the National Museum in Warsaw.

About Witold Pruszkowski
Troy Caperton was born in San Antonio, Texas in 1949. Raised in South Louisiana from 1953, he graduated from Baylor University in 1976 and pursued a Masters in History at the University of Louisiana until 1988 when he moved to Austin, Texas. For over ten years Caperton has been selling his original art and reproductions of original work and the masters through various portals on the Internet. One of his works won a Juror’s Prize at Austin’s Art Erotica in 2010. He has always been employed in helping positions and continues to produce works for the enjoyment of the public.
