This is a reproduction of “Rain in the Oak Forest” by Ivan Shishkin of 1891. Ivan Shishkin entered the Saint Petersburg Imperial Academy of Arts in 1856 when he was twenty-four years old. He became a member of the Imperial Academy in 1865 and was known as a master of landscapes. He exhibited in the All-Russian Exhibition in Moscow in 1882, in Nizhniy Novgorod in 1896 and the World Fairs of 1867, 1878 and 1873. He died while working on a new painting in St. Petersburg in 1898.This masterpiece is in the Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow. It is an oil on canvas. A reproduction of this painting is available that measures 124 by 203 centimeters.

Troy Caperton was born in San Antonio, Texas in 1949. Raised in South Louisiana from 1953, he graduated from Baylor University in 1976 and pursued a Masters in History at the University of Louisiana until 1988 when he moved to Austin, Texas. For over ten years Caperton has been selling his original art and reproductions of original work and the masters through various portals on the Internet. One of his works won a Jurors Prize at Austins Art Erotica in 2010. He has always been employed in helping positions and continues to produce works for the enjoyment of the public.
