Description
A reproduction of John Singer Sargent’s “Nude Study of Thomas E. McKellar”, of 1896. The work is on display at the Museum of Fine Art, Boston. This work was quite a scandal in late Victorian England and America. Not only were frontal depictions of male nudes rare by famous artists, but those of Black Men were virtually unknown up to this time. There is available an oil on canvas painting that reproduces this masterpiece. It measures 13 x 20 and is mounted on wooden bars. It is in the possession of the artist.
