This is a reproduction of Jean Baptist Camile Corot’s 1836 masterpiece, Avignon from the West. This landscape was probably created on the artist’s 1836 visit to Avignon and depicts the papal palace and the cathedral of the city. It is an oil on canvas and measures 34 x 73.2 centimeters. It is in the National Gallery in London. The artist was a native Parisian who was forty years old when he painted this landscape, which genre became the center of his attention. He greatly influenced the Impressionists and died in 1875.
