Artist's Description
This is a reproduction of "Mona Lisa" by Leonardo da Vinci between 1503 and 1519. This is probably the most recognizable painting of all time. It was created in Florence in the High Renaissance and is probably an enigmatic portrait of Lisa del Giocondo. The subtlety of the modeling of forms and the atmospheric illusions were elements never before seen in painting. The painting was commissioned for the lady's new home and to celebrate the birth of her second son and these facts were not discovered until 2005 by scholars at the University of Heidelberg. The painting is 30 inches by 21 inches and is housed in the Musee de Louvre, Paris.
