A reproduction of Giovanni Tiepolo's masterpiece "Procession of the Trojan Horse" of about 1760. This is the Italian master's rendition of the famous story found in the sacred books of the Greeks in which the people of Troy demolished their gates and brought into their city the vehicle of their destruction. The painting is at the Nationalal Gallery in London. Giovanni Domenico was born in Venice, the eldest surviving son of Giovanni Battista Tiepolo, whose assistant he became. He worked in Venice, Wurzburg and Vicenza. In 1762 he accompanied his father to Madrid, and on his death in 1770 returned to Venice. Although overshadowed by his father, Giovanni Domenico was a significant painter in his own right. His work is more down to earth and less allegorical than his father's.

Troy Caperton was born in San Antonio, Texas in 1949. Raised in South Louisiana from 1953, he graduated from Baylor University in 1976 and pursued a Masters in History at the University of Louisiana until 1988 when he moved to Austin, Texas. For over ten years Caperton has been selling his original art and reproductions of original work and the masters through various portals on the Internet. One of his works won a Juror’s Prize at Austin’s Art Erotica in 2010. He has always been employed in helping positions and continues to produce works for the enjoyment of the public.
