This is a reproduction of "View of the Flower of Greece" of 1836 by August Julius Ahiborn. This painting by Ahiborn is a copy of the original by Karl Friedrich Schinkel which has been lost. This painting shows ancient Greek workman constructing a temple capturing when the last block of its frieze is being heaved into place. The Greek inscription quotes Aristotle's hymn to the virtues of battle. The original painting is 92.5 inches wide and 37 inches high. This masterpiece is in the Alte Nationalgalerie, Staatliche Museen zu Berlin.

Troy Caperton was born in San Antonio, Texas in 1949. Raised in South Louisiana from 1953, he graduated from Baylor University in 1976 and pursued a Masters in History at the University of Louisiana until 1988 when he moved to Austin, Texas. One of his works won a Juror’s Prize at Austin’s Art Erotica in 2010. He has always been employed in helping positions and continues to produce works for the enjoyment of the public.
