Artist's Description

This is a reproduction of "Tobias Fishing in the Presence of the Archangel Raphael" of 1752 by Francesco Guardi. Francesco Guardi was one of the last of the Venetian school of painting and was forty years old when he produced this masterpiece. His most important works date from the years following this effort and his quick brushwork was to have an influence on the French Impressionists of the following century. He died in 1793, four years before the death of the Venetian Republic. This painting is in the Church of the Angel Raphael in Venice and measures 140 cm wide and 80 cm high.

Francesco Guardi

Troy Caperton was born in San Antonio, Texas in 1949. Raised in South Louisiana from 1953, he graduated from Baylor University in 1976 and pursued a Masters in History at the University of Louisiana until 1988 when he moved to Austin, Texas. For over ten years Caperton has been selling his original art and reproductions of original work and the masters through various portals on the Internet. One of his works won a Juror’s Prize at Austin’s Art Erotica in 2010. He has always been employed in helping positions and continues to produce works for the enjoyment of the public.
