Description
This is a reproduction of Aime Morot’s masterpiece, The Good Samaritan of 1880. The artist was a native of Nancy France and produced this painting when he was thirty years old. He had been studying his art since the age of twelve under, among others, Alexandre Cabanel. He won the Prix de Rome in 1873 and won the Medal of Honor for this work. He married the daughter of Jean Leon Gerome and became an associate of William Adolphe Bouguereau. He died in 1913. This painting depicts the parable of Jesus and it is in the Petit Palais in Paris.
