Artist's Description
This is a reproction of “The Shores of Oblivion” by Eugen Bracht of 1889. The artist was forty-seven years old when he created this masterpiece having ben born in 1842 Switzerland, being the son of a lawyer. The family moved to Darmstadt in 1850. He entered the Karlsruhe Art School when aged seventeen years. He became disappointed with his talents within two years and moved to Belgium to become a wool merchant. He was destroyed financially due to the Franco-Prussian War and returned to painting by 1876 when he moved to Karlsruhe. He gained his first success with his “dune” paintings. After a journey to Syria, Palestine and Egypt he produced landscapes of scenes from those lands which were enormously popular and gained imperial attention. He became a professor at the Berlin Academy of Arts. He became a supporter of the Impressionistic secession movement and became manager of the Dresden Art Academy in 1902. About Eugen Bracht

Troy Caperton was born in San Antonio, Texas in 1949. Raised in South Louisiana from 1953, he graduated from Baylor University in 1976 and pursued a Masters in History at the University of Louisiana until 1988 when he moved to Austin, Texas. For over ten years Caperton has been selling his original art and reproductions of original work and the masters through various portals on the Internet. One of his works won a Jurors Prize at Austins Art Erotica in 2010. He has always been employed in helping positions and continues to produce works for the enjoyment of the public.
