This is a reproduction of "Saturn Devouring His Son" by Francisco Goya, painted between 1819 and 1823. This is part of Goya's Black Paintings which were executed on the walls of his home. After the artist's death, the paintings were transferred to canvas. They are now in the Museo del Prado in Madrid. This painting depicts the Greek Myth of the Titan Kronos, Saturn in Latin, consuming one of the children, all of whom he consumed except for Zeus, the youngest born. When this was painted Goya was in his old age and was dispirited by the civil strife in his beloved Spain. He moved to Bordeaux in France in 1823 and died five years later. If you are interested in commissioning an oil painting on canvas of this art print, please send me an email email@example.com.
