Artist's Description
This masterpiece by the founder of the French Impressionist school, Claude Monet. His works often express the philosophy of the movement which is the expression of the artist's impression or perceptions of nature, particularly in plein-air landscape painting. In 1883 Monet rented a house and two acres at Giverny the barn of which doubled as a painting studio. He bought the house seven years later and executed several series of painting depicting local scenes. This masterpiece is one of the descriptive paintings of various parts of the grounds of the garden.
