Artist's Description

This is a reproduction of "Mort de Cesar" of 1798 by Vincenzo Camuccini. Camuccnini became the premier Neoclassic painter in Rome in the eraly nineteenth century. This was his first major original workcompleted when he was twenty-seven years old. He recieved a Papal commission two years later. He had a painting exhibited in the Pantheon in 1806. He later went to Munich and Parish where he met Napoleon and Jean Jacques David. He was created a Papal Baron and recieved the Order of the Iron Crown from the emperor of Austria. He died at Rome on September 2, 1844.

Vincenzo Camuccini

Troy Caperton was born in San Antonio, Texas in 1949. Raised in South Louisiana from 1953, he graduated from Baylor University in 1976 and pursued a Masters in History at the University of Louisiana until 1988 when he moved to Austin, Texas. For over ten years Caperton has been selling his original art and reproductions of original work and the masters through various portals on the Internet. One of his works won a Juror’s Prize at Austin’s Art Erotica in 2010. He has always been employed in helping positions and continues to produce works for the enjoyment of the public.
