Description
This is a reproduction of “Bluebonnet Sunrise”, an original painting by Troy Caperton of 2018. This was executed as homage to the beautiful flower of the Lone Star State. In March or April this lupine blankets many fields across Texas and gives pleasures to the eye rarely matched in any other time of year. It derives its name due to the resemblance its petals have to the bonnets worn by the pioneer women of Texas. It was recognized as the state flower of Texas on March 7, 1901 by act of the legislature, a law that was further clarified in 1971.
