This is a reproduction of Corrado Giaquinto's masterpiece "The Birth of the Sun and the Triumph of Bacchus" of 1762. This is the oil on canvas version of the ceiling fresco executed by the artist in the Royal Palace in Madrid. Corrado Giaquinto was an Italian artist who moved to Madrid n 1753 when he was fifty years old. He was one of the leading artists creating frescoes and became very influential among Spanish artist, influencing Goya. In 1762 he returned to Naples where he again influenced artists there. He died four years later there. The original of this masterpiece measures 66.1 by 55.1 inches and is in the Prado Museum in Madrid, Spain.

Troy Caperton was born in San Antonio, Texas in 1949. Raised in South Louisiana from 1953, he graduated from Baylor University in 1976 and pursued a Masters in History at the University of Louisiana until 1988 when he moved to Austin, Texas. For over ten years Caperton has been selling his original art and reproductions of original work and the masters through various portals on the Internet. One of his works won a Juror’s Prize at Austin’s Art Erotica in 2010. He has always been employed in helping positions and continues to produce works for the enjoyment of the public.
