This is a reproduction of "The Night Cafe" by Vincent Van Gogh. He created the work in Arles in September, 1888 and it is a depiction of the interior of the Cafe de la Gare. The artist had a room there and the establishment catered to night people who were down on their luck. It was open through the night and some of the clientele would sleep the night away slumped in their places. The use of vivid colors were a means of expressing the emotions the artist desired for the work. The artist was thirty-five years old when he created the work, two years before his death. The masterpiece is currently in the possession of the Yale Univeristy Art Gallery in New Haven, Connecticut.
